On Valencia Blog, we’re going to share things we like. And one of the things we really like is eating. So you can expect tons of restaurant reviews. And if you feel like sharing your favorite Valencia restaurants, you can do so over here: Valencia Restaurant Forum.

Today we went to Al Pomodoro — an Italian restaurant on a quiet street off La Paz. Opening hours are: 14:00 to 16:00 and 21:00 to 24:00.

We came for the Menu del Dia, which changes daily and, like at most other restaurants in Valencia, offers a great bargain.

For €9 per, we could choose from this:

That’s a starter, a main course, one beverage (wine is not included but we got a bottle for €8 – so go for a beer if on a budget), bread, dessert and coffee.

They also offer an executive menu with more choices for €14:

The food was very good and fresh:

as you can see.

I liked the atmosphere and the interior:

There’s even an changing art exhibition.

It was very crowded and we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. Everyone who came in after us without one was turned away. So, I recommend calling ahead of time, to make sure you will get seated.
