Winter Music Festival at the Palau de la Música

The Palau de la Música is the scene for the second annual City of Valencia Winter Music Festival.

We were a little late on this post, and the first concert has already come and gone. That was Georges Moustaki — a legend of the French chanson — on January 9th. Sorry chanson fans! But there are still three concerts coming up:

12:00h, February 1st – The Vienna Boys Choir

About 100 boys, mostly Austrian, make up one of the most famous children’s choirs in the world. The choir is exceptionally talented; each child is individually interviewed before being allowed entrance. Check out a YouTube video of the choir in action.

20:30h, February 12th – Pastora

Pastora are a pop trio from Barcelona, who’ve attained a pretty decent level of popularity in Spain. Their music is a mid-tempo pop mixture of a few different styles, from Flamenco to Techno. Here’s a video for your review. It’d probably a relaxed, entertaining concert.

20:30h, February 19th – Noa

Noa is one of Israel’s biggest stars, capable of filling concert houses not just there but around the world. She’s performed at Carnegie Hall and the Roman Colosseum, and most excitingly will be representing Israel at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Here she is live, singing a classic by the Alan Parson’s Project. Classy stuff.

Tickets for all the shows range between €15 and €72, and are on sale at El Corte Inglés, Bancaja and the Palau’s ticket office.
