Summer is here! Or it will be on June 13th … this is the day which the city’s bus system (EMT) will restart daily service of the special lines which go to Malvarrosa beach. The four additional routes make the journey a lot easier. The new beach routes 20, 21, 22 and 23, join the usual lines 2, 19, 31, 32.
Taking the Metro system to the beach can be a frustrating experience, because the main train stops at station Maritim-Serrería (location), from which you either have to (a) make a long walk, or (b) switch to a tram.
The buses, on the other hand, bring you directly to the beach. It’s a better option for almost anyone in the city center.
Because it’s hard to get much information out of the EMT website, we’ve put together the above map of where the beach buses can be found in the city center. Hopefully this is useful! Click the image for a wider perspective.
If you’re in Carmen — you’re going to have to do some walking! It’s frustrating that the southeast corner of the city is so well served, while the entire city center north of, west of, and including Plaza de la Reina is completely ignored.
