The evolution of Fallas was the theme of Na Jordana’s monument. The commission is celebrating 125 years of existence, and chose an appropriate topic for the occasion.
The main figures in this excellent monument are two chameleons, dressed as falleras, which represent the idea of change. The ninots, too, are all related to the idea of evolution. We see the backwards evolution of the Fallera Mayor until she was a monkey, and the testing of the first cyborg fallera.
This was an extremely well done monument full of humor and wit. The 6th prize was well-deserved, as was the cherished top prize of Ingenuity and Humor. To walk around Na Jordana’s 2009 monument was to be highly entertained.
