Anyone walking through the Turia this week has probably noticed two things. (1) The suffocating, unrelenting heat. (2) Enthusiastic crowds cheering high-quality softball at the baseball pitch.
Seems the 2009 European Softball Championships are being held in Valencia this year. The grand final will be held tomorrow, and the four teams left in play are the Czech Republic, Russia, the Netherlands and Britain.
